Prez admits to golf, but ripped Bam

- BY RICH SCHAPIRO

PRESIDENT TRUMP made a rare admission Friday — that he was planning to play golf.

Trump tweeted that he was set to hit the links — “quickly” — with golf legend Tiger Woods and the No. 1 ranked pro Dustin Johnson.

“After Turkey call I will be heading over to Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter, to play golf (quickly) with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson,” the tweet read.

“Then back to Mar-a-Lago for talks on bringing even more jobs and companies back to the USA!”

Trump has visited his golf clubs more than 70 times since taking office — but has largely avoided any mention of the trips. The White House has refused to acknowledge he’s been golfing even on occasions when pictures of him doing so have emerged on social media.

Trump has been ridiculed for spending so much time playing the game after saying repeatedly during the election campaign that he would be too busy as President to hit the links.

Before he was elected, Trump also took repeated swings at former President Barack Obama for his penchant for golf, and tweeted complaints about it over two dozen times.

“Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf. Worse than Carter,” Trump tweeted in 2014.

A few hours after his tweet Friday, photos of the golf-playing trio popped up on social media.

One image showed Trump, in a red USA hat, talking with Woods.

“The President and Tiger Woods enjoying a moment, both [in] great spirits,” author Eric Kaplan wrote in a tweet that he sent out with the picture.

One Instagram user posted a photo with Woods and described her interactions with Trump.

“The President was very happy and talked with a few people that asked questions,” the woman wrote. “I am glad my daughters had this experience! Alexis is very excited to tell her friends bc we were Trump supporters during the election and it was her first time being involved in political discussions.”

The excursion lasted over four hours.

Prior to the golf game, Trump tweeted that he planned to speak with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey about “bringing peace to the mess that I inherited in the Middle East.”

“I will get it all done, but what a mistake, in lives and dollars (6 trillion), to be there in the first place!” he added.

Trump also used his earlymorning Twitter blast to yet again denounce NFL players who kneel during the national anthem.

“Can you believe that the disrespect for our Country, our Flag, our Anthem continues without penalty to the players,” Trump wrote.

“The Commissioner has lost control of the hemorrhaging league. Players are the boss!”

Trump was back on social media early Friday evening, this time to share his thoughts on being considered for Time magazine’s person of the year.

“Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!” he tweeted.

The glossy later tweeted a response to his dig, saying he “is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year.” The magazine said it doesn’t comment on its choice until publication.
