Enquirer top editor hit by harass claim

- BY RICH SCHAPIRO

A TOP editor at the National Enquirer was accused of sexually harassing co-workers at his previous celebrity-news job, according to a new report.

Dylan Howard, chief content officer of American Media Inc., was a menace at the startup site Celebuzz — regularly asking female colleagues about their sex lives and even throwing a sex toy at an employee, the Associated Press reported.

The new disclosures emerged days after Howard was revealed to have drawn sexual harassment complaints at the National Enquirer before he landed the job as top editor.

The latest damning AP report was based on confidential documents and interviews with former employees at Celebuzz, where Howard took over as chief editor in early 2012.

“Dylan has repeatedly asked interns and employees ... about their sex lives,” read a complaint to human resources by one Celebuzz employee.

“He’s made comments about women’s suggestive clothing, how good employees look when they leave the room, how much he would like to have sex with hosts from the studio floor, which celebrities he’s slept with, etc.”

An investigation concluded that Howard had violated the company’s sexual harassment policy, according to an HR memo. Howard resigned from Celebuzz after 15 months. “There is nothing here that has any truth to it,” Howard said. “Period.”
