Homeless man in tragedy on E line tracks
A HOMELESS MAN was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after he was struck by a Midtown subway train, authorities said.
The victim was at the 50th St. station on Eighth Ave. when he was hit by a downtown E train coming into the station about 9 a.m., cops said.
Witnesses told police the victim was already on the tracks.
When the train came into the station, he ended up underneath the first and second cars, sources said.
Firefighters shut down power to the tracks, freed the victim and took him to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell with serious injuries (photo). His name was not immediately released.
