Mama Griz called cops, worried about his meds
THE TROUBLED son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin beat up his father at their family home after an argument about a truck spiraled out of control on Saturday night, court records show.
The former GOP vice presidential nominee told cops Track Palin was “freaking out” on “some type of medication” at her house in Wasilla around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest affidavit.
The Palin son had become enraged after his father, Todd Palin, told him over the phone that he couldn’t take the family truck because he had been drinking and taking pain medication, police said.
“Track told him he was (going to) come anyway to beat his ass,” the affidavit states.
After getting off the phone with his son, Todd Palin told police that he got his pistol out to “protect his family.” But Palin told cops he couldn’t move himself to shoot his own son. Instead, Track Palin smashed a window, broke into the house, wrestled his father to the ground and began hitting him repeatedly in the head, the papers say. Todd Palin eventually managed to escape his son’s grip and bolted from the house with blood running down his face, according to cops. It was Sarah Palin who called police, records show. When cops arrived, Track Palin was alone at the house and cops reported hearing a lot of screaming.
When they approached, Palin started calling the responding officers “peasants” and yelled at them to put their guns down.
After a back-and-forth lasting at least 15 minutes, officers were able to arrest Palin.
The 28-year-old Palin was slammed with several charges, including felony first-degree burglary, misdemeanor criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault. He was being held on $5,000 bail Monday.
An attorney for the Palin family acknowledged the charges but declined to comment further.
“They ask that the family’s privacy is respected during this challenging situation just as others dealing with a struggling family member would also request,” John Tiemessen said in a statement. This was not Palin’s run-in with the law. first
Last year he was arrested after drunkenly punching and kicking his ex-girlfriend before threatening to take his own life, according to a police report. Sarah Palin, who ran a failed Republican White House bid with Sen. John McCain in 2008, has blamed her son’s criminal behavior on posttraumatic stress disorder, which he supposedly contracted after his military deployment to Iraq.
