GUN NUT UNLOADS ON DEMS

- BY LEONARD GREENE

NATIONAL RIFLE Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch came back swinging Thursday after being roasted a day before at a town hall discussion on the deadly Florida school shooting.

Students who survived the Feb. 14 attack at Parkland’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School grilled Loesch Wednesday night over gun control, and accused her of dodging questions on the critical issue.

But Loesch (photo) accused the media of exploiting the tragedy.

“Many in legacy media love mass shootings. You guys love it,” Loesch said at the American Conservative Union’s Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington.

“I’m not saying that you love the tragedy, but I am saying that you love the ratings. Crying white mothers are ratings gold to you and many in the legacy media.”

Loesch called out CNN during her speech, and questioned why the network didn’t host a town hall in Chicago, in the midst of that city’s violence epidemic.

“And I said ‘crying white mothers’ because there are thousands of grieving black mothers in Chicago every weekend and you don’t see town halls for them, do you? Where’s the CNN town hall for Chicago?” Loesch said.

“If it bleeds, it leads; but it has to be the right people from the right communities at the right time.”

Loesch also blamed the FBI for not following up on tips about Nikolas Cruz, 19, who is accused of killing 17 students and teachers at the high school earlier this month.

She said some of her town hall critics were over the top.

“There were people rushing the stage and screaming ‘burn her,’ ” she said.

Loesch was a former writer and editor for the conservative Breitbart.com site, which is run by former White House strategist Stephen Bannon.
