Dad rages at coward cops at HS
THE ANGUISHED father of a murdered Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student discovered a new stage of grief: complete outrage.
Andrew Pollack, whose 18-year-old daughter, Meadow, died in the Feb. 14 school shooting, ripped into the school resource officer who stayed outside during the slaughter of 17 victims.
“Unbelievable,” the father wrote Saturday in his pointed Facebook post. “Without question ... Scot Peterson had ample enough to time to make it to the third floor and prevent 6 deaths including the death of my daughter Meadow.”
Peterson, 54, resigned his position with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office after his decision to avoid confronting mass shooter Nikolas Cruz became national news.
A video showed Peterson (photo left) standing outside for four full minutes as the killer kept firing.
“Words can’t described how upset and angry I am,” continued Pollack (photo right) in a post accompanied by a photo of his slain child. “This is a picture of my beautiful daughter that he allowed to be stalked and shot nine times on the third floor.”
At least two other sheriff’s deputies were also under investigation for their failure to enter the building during the rampage.
Yet President Trump again called Saturday for the nation’s teachers to step up where law enforcement had not during the Parkland, Fla., killings.
“Armed Educators (and trusted people who work within a school) love our students and will protect them,” Trump tweeted. “Very smart people. Must be firearms adept & have annual training.
“Should get yearly bonus. Shootings will not happen again — a big & very inexpensive deterrent.”
