‘Brave’ Trump boasts to govs Outrage at ‘Capt. Bone Spurs’

PRESIDENT TRUMP claimed Monday that he would have rushed into the mayhem of a Parkland, Fla., school shooting to save students even if he wasn’t armed.

Trump — who once told Howard Stern blood is “not my thing” because it’s “disgusting” — made the claim in an address to a meeting of the nation’s governors.

Several Broward County sheriff’s deputies are under investigation for failing to intervene in the Feb. 14 massacre that killed 17, and one has resigned.

Trump — who received four college deferments from fighting in Vietnam along with a fifth for bone spurs in his heels — suggested he would have been a man of action.

“You know, I really believe you don’t know until you test it, but I think I’d run in there even if I didn’t have a weapon,” Trump told 39 of the nation’s governors.

The point he was making is that he would have wanted to play a role in that.”

The social media reaction to Trump’s remark was less than favorable. “I believe you, Captain Bone Spurs & I really believe that due to an unexpected write-in vote, I’ll win an Oscar this Sunday,” “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill posted on Twitter.

Twitter user Noah Berlatsky posted, “Trump’s boasts are ridiculous . . . but also despicable! He’s turning the mass shooting of children into an opportunity to fantasize about his own personal bravery.”

Trump went on to say that the deputies under investigation for their roles in the shooting “weren’t exactly Medal of Honor winners.”

In a 2008 interview with Stern, Trump recalled an incident where an elderly man fell and cracked his head in front of him. Trump said he didn’t help the man because he was disgusted by the sight of blood.

“If you cut your finger and there’s blood pouring out, I’m
