Jerry not giving up fight vs. NFL
COWBOYS owner Jerry Jones still has plenty of fight left in him in his ongoing battle with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Jones on Tuesday requested a hearing before Goodell to appeal the commissioner’s decision to seek $2 million in reimbursement of legal fees from him in relation to his role in trying to halt Goodell’s contract extension and Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension, according to the Washington Post.
No date has been scheduled for the hearing.
The NFL cites a resolution added to the league constitution in 1997 that states the commissioner can impose a punishment when a team “joins, has a direct, football-related financial interest in, or offers substantial assistance in any lawsuit or other legal, regulatory, or administrative proceeding” against the league.

PAPA JOHN’S, NFL SPLIT
Papa John’s and the NFL are splitting up. In a joint statement released on Tuesday, the two announced the pizza franchise will no longer be the official pizza of the NFL.
The relationship began to fracture over the last year, with former CEO John Schnatter blaming the NFL’s handling of players protesting during the national anthem as reason for the decline in sales.

MIAMI HEAVE STUNS NC
Ja’Quan Newton hit a running 30-footer at the horn to help visiting Miami upset No. 9 North Carolina, 91-88, in a wild finish. Newton’s heave off his left foot came immediately after UNC’s Joel Berry hit a tough 3 of his own to tie the game with 4.1 seconds left.
Miami pushed the ball upcourt for Newton’s shot over Berry, then the Hurricanes immediately mobbed Newton near midcourt.
