SHERMAN ‘VENGEFUL’

-

Richard Sherman did not choose San Francisco for the weather or the money or the restaurant scene. He picked the divisional rival 49ers because he’ll get the chance to stick it to his old team at least twice a year.

“I’m vengeful in that way,” Sherman told MMQB.

It should come as no surprise that Sherman, one of the most outspoken players in the league, took it personally when the Seahawks released him last week.

“Vengeful,” he said of the decision to sign with an NFC West rival. “I love the fan base to death, and I loved playing there. It was such a great opportunity. I helped the organization get to a great place and stay there. But now it’s like I abandoned them. People are out there burning my jersey. Come on. I’m not the one who let me go. They let me go. I didn’t abandon anybody.”

That’s right. Seahawks fans showed just how dumb they are when some burned a Sherman No. 25 jersey after Seattle released him against his wishes. Sherman did not want to leave, yet a minority of moron Seahawks fans blamed the Legion of Boom member for getting fired and became the latest pinheads to burn a player’s jersey in effigy.

Sherman is mad, but he’s also smart. He reportedly represented himself in negotiations with the 49ers and hammered out a threeyear, incentive-laden contract that could reportedly pay him up to $39.15 million. He then celebrated the deal by partying at CliQue Bar & Lounge in Las Vegas over the weekend.
