MAY 24, 1952

Billy Martin goes after Red Sox outfielder Jimmy Piersall in the tunnel under the Fenway stands before Boston's 5-2 victory. The two had jawed at each other a few weeks earlier in the Bronx. Martin drops Piersall with two shots to the face before Yankee coach Bill Dickey breaks it up.

AUG. 1, 1973

With the game tied at 2 in the ninth at Fenway, Thurman Munson charges home on a squeeze play. But Gene Michael misses the bunt and Munson crushes Carlton Fisk. Benches clear and Yankee manager Ralph Houk ends up trying to pry Fisk’s arms off of Munson.

MAY 20, 1976

Lou Piniella takes a wide turn around third on a single by Otto Velez in the sixth with Yanks leading 1-0 at the Stadium. The throw from right beats Piniella by plenty, so the intense Yankee lowers his shoulder and barrels into Fisk. Piniella takes hold of the back strap of Fisk’s chest protector as the two wrestle in the dirt. Fisk gets in a right hook before teammates break it up. The fight stalls for a minute before Boston pitcher Bill Lee barks at Graig Nettles, who throws a right hook to Lee's head.

OCT. 11, 2003

After Pedro Martinez beans Karim Garcia earlier in the game, Roger Clemens throws high and not-so-tight to Manny Ramirez, who throws a tantrum and benches clear. Martinez is met by Yankee coach Don Zimmer, who charges the pitcher, Pedro grabs the old man by the head and tossed him aside.

JULY 24, 2004

Alex Rodriguez did not appreciate being plunked by Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo. As A-Rod walked toward first, he could clearly be seen mouthing the words "f--- you!" Boston catcher Jason Varitek intervened, shoving A-Rod in the face with both hands and soon he and the Yankee slugger were wrestling to the ground as teammates charged toward them from both sides of the diamond.
