TANKING? NEVER heard of it!

That is Marlins CEO Derek Jeter’s message in an upcoming HBO “Real Sports” interview with Bryant Gumbel, who previously told the Daily News of this specific exchange when asked if there was a subject the two got combative over.

“Tanking? What is ... tanking?” Jeter says in a clip from the show scheduled to air Tuesday at 10 p.m.

When Gumbel then describes it as “not trying your hardest to win ballgames,” the Yankee great insists 5-16 Miami is “trying to win ballgames every day,” despite new ownership dealing players like reigning NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, Marcell Ozuna and Dee Gordon.

Jeter first says that one “never” tells his team it is expected to lose, before taking some jabs at Gumbel.

“Now, you can think ... now, I can’t tell how you think,” the 43-year-old said.

“Like, I see your mind. I see that’s how you think. I don’t OAKLAND — Khris Davis hit a tiebreaking, three-run homer off David Price with two outs in the eighth inning and the Oakland Athletics beat the Boston Red Sox 4-1 on Sunday.

A day after getting no-hit by Sean Manaea, Boston lost back-to-back games for the first time under new manager Alex Cora.

The Red Sox had won their first six series this season before dropping two of three at the Coliseum. They still have the best record in the majors at 17-4.

CUBS 9, ROCKIES 7: Nolan Arenado was initially called safe when he tried to score on a bases-loaded pitch that bounced to the backstop, then was ruled out on a video review that ended a win for Chicago over Colorado in Denver.

Cubs star Kris Bryant left in the first inning after he was hit on the head with a 96 mph pitch from German Marquez.

DODGERS 4, NATIONALS 3: Cody Bellinger followed Yasmani Grandal’s two-run double with a tying RBI double in the sixth, and Corey Seager drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning of host Los Angeles’ sixth win in seven games.

ASTROS 7, WHITE SOX 1: Jose Altuve hit a goahead single in a five-run seventh inning, and visiting Houston stretched its winning streak to six with a win over Chicago.

PHILLIES 3, PIRATES 2 (11): Aaron Altherr’s think like that. That’s your mind working like that . ... You don’t get it.

“You don’t. We have two different mi- ... I can’t wait to get you on the golf course, man. We got ... I mean, I can’t wait for this one . ... You’re mentally weak.”

Gumbel had told The News the moment “makes for pretty good television.”

“It was an honest exchange between a guy who believes the Marlins are tanking and another guy trying to put the best face on what they are trying to do with the organization,” he said. RBI single in the bottom of the 11th lifted host Philadelphia to a victory over Pittsburgh, giving the Phillies their first four-game sweep over the Pirates in 24 years.

BREWERS 4, MARLINS 2: Christian Yelich hit a two-run homer, Junior Guerra worked five innings and three relievers did the rest for host Milwaukee, which completed a four-game sweep of Miami.

CARDINALS 9, REDS 2: Kolten Wong and Paul DeJong homered, Mike Mikolas tossed seven strong innings and St. Louis completed its second sweep, this one at home, of woeful Cincinnati.

RAYS 8, TWINS 6: Slumping Carlos Gomez hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning and Tampa Bay completed a three-game sweep by beating Minnesota in St. Petersburg.

ROYALS 8, TIGERS 5: Mike Moustakas hit a tiebreaking, three-run homer in the seventh inning, and visiting Kansas City outlasted Detroit to earn a split of their four-game series.

INDIANS 7, ORIOLES 3: Jose Ramirez homered twice and drove in three runs, Corey Kluber won his third straight start and Cleveland beat struggling Baltimore at Camden Yards.

DIAMONDBACKS 4, PADRES 2: Patrick Corbin struck out 11 in six innings to improve to 4-0 in five starts, and host Arizona became the first team in 15 years to win its first seven series of a season with a victory over San Diego. —AP
