Intent to kill Freeman kin: prosecutor

THE BOYFRIEND of Morgan Freeman’s stepgranddaughter intended to kill her when he stabbed her 25 times during an intense PCP trip, a Manhattan prosecutor argued Wednesday.

“Drunk and high, the defendant robbed himself of self-control and the ability to stop his impulses,” Assistant District Attorney Christopher Prevost said in his summation at Lamar Davenport’s murder trial in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Davenport, 33, is accused of brutally stabbing E’Dena Hines outside their W. 162nd St. building in Washington Heights on Aug. 16, 2015.

Prevost argued that Davenport’s actions were deliberate, that he had the “intent” and control of the knife he used — even if he was experiencing drug-induced delusions.

Davenport’s defense team argues he was too emotionally disturbed to be convicted of murder.

A judge ruled he could not be found not responsible by reason of insanity but will consider manslaughter instead of murder as a possibility at the bench trial.

“He had no insight into the fact that he was experiencing a delusion,” said his lawyer, Annie Costanzo.

Trial evidence showed he was ranting about releasing demons from Hines, who was the daughter of Deena Adair, who was adopted by Freeman during his marriage to his first wife, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw.
