Giuca’s wrongful-conviction act

-

Brooklyn: John Giuca is playing the Brooklyn DA’s office, several celebrity supporters and members of the legitimately wrongfully convicted community. He is guilty. Both he and his mother have perpetrated a huge fraud upon us all with this ridiculous claim of his innocence. This wannabe gangster who proclaimed himself the leader of the Ghetto Mafia is just a punk who is conniving his way out of doing his time. He is a middle-class guy from the beautiful neighborhood of Ditmas Park who deluded himself into believing he was some tough gang banger. What a joke.

Undoubtedly, he has somehow convinced Antonio Russo to take the weight now, just as he somehow got John Avitto to change his testimony. The DA’s office should investigate these issues. I would bet anything that both of these individuals so crucial to his case were paid off to change their testimonies.

Let that punk rot.

Have some respect

Manhattan: Seriously, Darren Martin, you’re moving into an apartment around 11 p.m. and you’re upset that police were called (“Moving in while black,” May 2)? Who, with any concern for their new neighbors, moves in at that time? People need to sleep to work the next day. Hello? You should thank your neighbor they cared enough to take action and make certain nothing wrong was going on. Shari Zuber

Who’s responsible?

Bronx: On the same day, May 4, you published an Op-Ed saying that the NRA is on its heels, which is false (“The NRA’s on a losing streak”) and an editorial demanding criminal accountability for deadly drivers (“A drive for justice”). Why does the media never blame the shooter?

Mike Clarke

Zoned out

Brooklyn: It’s funny that President Trump, who doesn’t believe in gun-free zones, gave his speech to the NRA on Friday in a Secret Service-mandated gun- free zone. Was he afraid of being around all those good guys with guns?

William Gabriel

The art of not caring

Yonkers: Why does Donald Trump’s base say they don’t care who he sleeps with? They sure cared who Bill Clinton slept with! All the way to impeaching him for it. And he didn’t have the increasingly younger wives, each of whom he cheated on repeatedly. Clinton was a Boy Scout in comparison to Trump, but all you heard was “disgrace to the noble position of U.S. President,” “a stain on the White House” and endless hysteria around his infidelity. Not so re Trump and his base. Why is that? And why do they not care that he spends more time playing golf and at Mar-a-Lago than the past three Presidents combined (and he hasn’t been in office two years yet) when he campaigned by saying he wouldn’t have any time to play golf — like President Obama — because he’d be in the White House 24/7 running the country? Why are they not angry that he’s practically never in the White House working, as he so loudly accused his predecessor of not doing? How little attention are they paying?

Suzanne Hayes Kelly

Liar, liar

Mohegan Lake, N.Y.: It’s been said that there are “lies, damned lies, and statistics.” I think we need to update that to “lies, damned lies and Trump.”

Michael W. Domis

The missing LINC

Bronx: Whoever created LINC rent vouchers needs their head examined! I have been in a homeless shelter for the past year. I have a voucher for $1,268 and a sign-on bonus of $3,500 up, which equals $18,716 for the entire year. My wife and I went to so many places and all of them said we don’t know the LINC program but if you had Section 8, well come on in. This LINC crap should be trashed. Give the people who are homeless their rights and stop playing around! Come on mayor, do something.

Joseph Stasolla

Bloom on Rose

Jaimie Connor Staten Island: To Voicer Jimmy Garofalo: You describe exactly why I and so many others in the 11th Congressional District are standing with Max Rose. It seems as if you have some idea that I like Michael Grimm the thief. Maybe go back and read what I wrote previously. Rose is a bona fide hero, incredibly educated and one of the fairest people I think I’ve ever met. He is the only candidate worth giving your vote to. To Voicer Robert Romeo: Take a science class beyond fifth grade sometime, please.

Thomas McGuire

Don’t give up, Miriam

Garwood, N.J.: To Voicer Miriam Perez Cuenca: I am sorry and feel bad for you with the situation you are in. It sickens me that we live in the U.S., and what the poorest of people have to go through. Don’t give up hope. You have to keep going to Social Services until you meet the right person who can help you find living quarters with an acceptable landlord. I know it is a lot of footwork and aggravation. Keep seeking help, and I hope you find it. Joan Tully Brooklyn: Why does anyone care who gets the Nobel Peace Prize anyway? It’s a kind of joke. Past winners include Woodrow Wilson, Henry Kissinger, Yasser Arafat, Aung San Suu Kyi and Barack Obama. Schellie Hagan

Nobel warriors

East Brunswick, N.J.: Career politicians who have nothing to show for all of their years in office balk at the idea of President Trump being presented the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in bringing ISIS to near extinction, getting Israel their capital back and for bringing North and South Korea to peace talks for the first time, um, ever. Yet, when Obama won for talking about things he wanted to do yet never accomplished, those same career politicians and their lapdog (the liberal media) sang his praises. You do realize the reason you keep raising your prices is because no one is buying your paper, right? Perhaps you can all become lobbyists for the DNC.

Lisa Maniaci

Worthless medal

Manhattan: I do not know whether or not President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his apparently fruitful efforts in the Korean peninsula, but I do know that the Daily News had no problem with Barack Obama being awarded a preemptive Nobel Peace Prize just for winning the presidential election in 2008. Sad and hypocritical.

Rudy’s fall

Scarborough, N.Y.: Irony abounds: Rudy Giuliani contributed to his image as protector of truth, justice and the American Way by prosecuting Stanley Friedman, the corrupt and arrogant Bronx political boss. It was Friedman, along with Roy Cohn, another serial liar and crook, who mentored Donald Trump when he broke into the Manhattan real estate scene in the 1970s. Now Rudy defends Trump by slinging lies and attacking the integrity of the Justice Department and FBI. Roy Cohn would be proud, Rudy.

Thomas F. Comiskey

Rat race

Oakland, N.J.: With reputable Trump lawyers abandoning his ship right and left, on board comes Rudy “Your Crazy Uncle” Giuliani, who immediately throws Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to the sharks. It won’t be long until all these rats are cornered. The fun has only begun, folks. Bob Shwalb

Disposable Rudy

Staten Island: Hey, Rudy Giuliani: Amongst your most recent idiotic rantings on the Trump channel (also known as Fox) while having your intellectual and insightful discourse with Trump’s latest whisperer, Sean Hannity, one thing you said actually resonated with me. When you threw Jared under the bus by saying “men are disposable” but said Ivanka should be left alone, it occurred to me that in your world that would make complete and utter sense. After all, didn’t wife No. 3 just recently dispose of you? Marsha Korot

Boys and girls, separate

Brooklyn: I am a woman and I enjoy being a woman. The Boy Scouts are called that because it’s a group for boys. I think it’s nice that boys get to spend time with each other without girls, just as the girls spend time with each other without boys. If the girls want to do similar actives they should integrate them into the Girl Scouts program. What next — unisex bras? Leonora Sherman

Not a good look

BYRON SMITH Brooklyn: Women are beautiful; but when a woman smokes, it makes her ugly. Please put down the cigarette and be beautiful again. What is so great about smoke coming out of your mouth anyway? Steve Yanowsky
