NEWS’ TRAVERS DIES

Bill Travers, a long-time editor of the high school sports pages at the Daily News, died on May 15 at 86. Travers is survived by his wife, Rose, and children, Bill Jr. and Kathleen.

A wake will be held at the George Werst Funeral Home in Glendale, Queens, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Friday. His funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. inside Sacred Heart Church, also in Glendale.
