YANK GAME DAY

-

THE kid redeemed himself. Gleyber Torres made up for an awful day in the field, delivering a walk-off RBI single with two outs in the 10th inning, as the Yankees came back to beat the Astros 6-5 on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium. It was like Game 4 of the ALCS all over again — the Astros’ bullpen imploding against the Bronx Bombers.

Trailing 5-3 in the ninth inning, the Yankees staged another comeback, as Brett Gardner delivered a game-tying, two-run homer off Chris Devenski with one out. It was Gardner’s second homer of the game.

An inning later, Miguel Andujar drilled a double into the left-field corner before Torres lined the game-winning RBI single off Brad Peacock. Andujar had walked before Gardner’s game-tying blast.

The Yankees put on an embarrassing defensive display, committing a season-high five errors. The culprits: Torres (two), CC Sabathia, Andujar and Gary Sanchez. Torres has three errors in his last two games.

Houston, on the other hand, came in with 16 errors on the season — tied for the fewest in the majors. The Yankees have 37.

Charlie Morton struck out 10 Yankees for the second time this season, but this time he gave up three runs. Morton had allowed one run against the Bombers on April 30 in Houston.

Sabathia gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits in five innings. The 37-year-old lefty walked two and struck out four.

Aaron Judge launched his 15th homer of the year — a solo shot to right leading off the fifth.

Gardner also belted a leadoff homer five innings before his game-tying blast.

Didi Gregorius posted his second multi-hit game in as many days.
