If it’s your birthday

-

You must resist any temptation to be other than perfectly honest with others — and with yourself. Because we live in what is being called the “posttruth” era of history, it’s especially easy to let reality slip and slide, though you are a person of much higher integrity than that. Speak only the truth, be scrupulous with yourself, and verify anything that you hear. You share a birthday with Diego Velazquez, Billie Whitelaw and Paula Brancati. MARCH 21-APRIL 19 Feelings are not facts. This is a major point of confusion in the world these days, and you would be wise to know the difference. You may be offended; that does not mean someone tried to hurt you. Something may seem obvious at first; then, on closer look, it makes no sense at all. APRIL 20-MAY 20 If someone has some hot gossip for you, tell them you have to run to catch a bus. Don’t even let yourself be lured by the most entertaining potential story; at the moment, the whisper network is as toxic as it gets, and you don’t want to get any of that slime on your pristine aura. MAY 21-JUNE 20 Be cautious when addressing or doing the bidding of higher-ups. Patiently verify all instructions, and make sure you understand the motives involved. You could easily be played, and used as a pawn, though you don’t want to seem suspicious. Sidestep the situation if you can. JUNE 21-JULY 22 Whatever passes for spiritual should have one distinct quality: kindness. If someone, or something, is not genuinely loving toward you, you can set it aside and move on to the next possibility. Let this be your barometer, and use it as your guide to correct action. That will come naturally. JULY 23-AUG. 22 We might be able to call a truce in the current “war of the sexes” if people could state how they feel, and accept how others feel. Today you have a gift for sensing what is going on emotionally with others, even if they’re not willing to state it out loud. That, at least, is a start. AUG. 23-SEPT. 22 A partner or loved one may have an agenda they’re not revealing. That does not make it sinister in any way; rather, the chances are, they’re trying to get an emotional need met, but don’t know how to say it. Resist applying your maternal instincts; this person must act like an adult. SEPT. 23-OCT. 22 The pressure is off in a certain situation, though something else seems to be bothering you. Take note of that, and don’t push yourself for clarity; let it come to you naturally. That may arrive with tomorrow’s Moon-Chiron conjunction in your opposite sign Aries — be patient and listen carefully. OCT. 23-NOV. 21 Maybe it’s time to set a boundary, which is to have sex only with people who tell you the truth and who never lie about you, and where you can be honest as well. I recognize this would filter out 90% of all romantic liaisons under the current social rules of order, but we need some new ones. NOV. 22-DEC. 21 Your confusion may be no better today than it was yesterday, though take a breath, and take it easy. My old friend Scott Grace once said something rather brilliant, which is that, “Confusion is the state before enlightenment.” I’m sure you’ve experienced that at least 100 times. DEC. 22-JAN. 19 You still need some help making sure your thinking is clear. It’s tempting to make decisions from your gut, though I would say that’s true any day but today. Consult with wise people, and consider their ideas. And take any opportunity to delay what does not matter. JAN. 20-FEB. 18 Be careful with money; delay any major expenditures (including for things like fancy shoes) for one whole day. You’re likely to decide tomorrow that you just didn’t need the thing that seemed so urgent today. Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of opportunities to spend money. FEB. 19-MARCH 20 You will feel less vulnerable if you have more fun. Therefore, do the things that give you pleasure, and feel each step that you take on solid ground. You’re not walking on clouds; you are standing on the Earth; and meanwhile the Earth is doing its bit and holding you up rather nicely.
