House blast kills 1 in Cleveland – a woman is sought

A HOUSE EXPLOSION in Cleveland killed a woman and critically injured a man Sunday, authoritie­s said.

The explosion damaged several other homes in an East Cleveland neighborho­od at around 1 p.m., according to the Cleveland Fire Department.

The man suffered burn injuries and was hospitaliz­ed. MAYORS FROM across the nation endorsed a campaign Sunday to uphold transgende­r protection­s during a gathering in Boston focused on issues affecting cities.

More than 300 officials attending the four-day U.S.

Cleveland police named Ronetta Butts a person of interest in connection with the explosion, WJW-TV reported.

She’s known to frequent the area where the incident happened, police said.

It’s unknown what triggered the explosion.

Massachuse­tts is the first state in the nation where transgende­r protection­s will be up for a vote on a statewide ballot measure. The 86th annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors ends Monday.
