Teen-slay cop just sworn in
The Pennsylvania officer who opened fire and killed a 17-year-old as he was running away from a traffic stop had been sworn in to his job only minutes earlier, according to a report.
Antwon Rose was killed Tuesday night in East Pittsburgh, where he and another boy fled a car they were passengers in as the driver was detained.
Facebook video shows him leaving the car as shots ring out and he falls.
Detectives from Allegheny County are investigating the shooting. The officer, who has not been identified, has not yet explained why he fired at the fleeing teen.
"This is not someone who was in trouble ever," Rose family lawyer Fred Rabner told ABC News. "This is not a family that was anything but doting and loving about their son."
Sources told KDKA that the unidentified officer involved had only been working for the department for three weeks, and was sworn into duty only around 90 minutes before the shooting.
