Cop killer’s wife in death leap
Less than three weeks after New York cop killer Herman Bell was paroled in April, his wife killed herself, authorities confirmed Thursday.
Nancy Jacot-Bell, 71, jumped from the rooftop patio of her retirement facility in Emeryville, Calif., a source with the Alameda County coroner’s office told the Daily News.
“The cause of death was blunt injuries. It was mannered a suicide,” the source said.
Jacot-Bell was declared dead at 10:04 a.m. on May 12, the source said.Herman Bell, 70, was released from prison April 27 after a controversial decision by a Parole Board to set him free.
The former Black Liberation Army member was convicted in 1979 of the 1971 murders of Police Officers Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones in Harlem. He was also convicted of the 1971 murder of a California cop.
