‘Catfish’ back, host off hook
“Catfish” has resumed production one month after accusations of sexual misconduct against host and executive producer Nev Schulman put the MTV cyberdating reality series on hold pending an investigation.
The network said Saturday it had wrapped up the probe and found the allegations against Schulman to be “not credible and without merit.” “Although we never received a formal complaint, MTV and Critical Content immediately engaged an independent third party investigator,” a spokesman for MTV told the Daily News in a statement.
Schulman, 33, celebrated the news on Twitter by thanking his fans for standing by him. “Appreciate the support from you and so many others. Excited to get back to work!” he wrote.
“Catfish” production was halted in May after a former participant of the series accused Schulman of repeated sexual harassment.
