Officer was drunk, punched other driver, police say

An off-duty cop plowed into a car and took off in Brooklyn, and when the irate victim chased him down, he socked the man in the face, police said Tuesday.

Tanvir Ahmed, 28, smashed into another car at Avenue P and Ocean Parkway in Midwood around 9:30 p.m. Monday, police said. The driver of the damaged vehicle followed him seven blocks west to Quentin Road and Dahill Road to confront him.

Ahmed, who was allegedly drunk, punched the man and hauled off, cops said.

When police arrived, Ahmed, refused to take a Breathalyz­er test. He is charged with assault, DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Ahmed was one of three off-duty NYPD employees arrested within 24 hours.

Traffic Agent Jean Denard, 44, was busted at his home in Brooklyn for allegedly slapping and choking his wife early Tuesday.

A second traffic agent, Dawn Gordon, 50, was arrested in Queens for buying drugs on Monday, police said.
