‘I want justice’ for my ambushed son

B’klyn mom eyes woman behind hit

The heartbroken mom of a Brooklyn teen executed by ambushers in a case of mistaken identity nearly six weeks ago wept Wednesday as she cried out for justice.

Paula Aumack said her daily life remains a struggle since the still-unsolved killing of her son Genesis Wilson in an attack sparked by another teen's feud with her boyfriend.

“Do you know the agony and the pain I have to go through, knowing (the killers are) just walking around freely and my kid is not here?” said Paula Aumack after police asked for the public's help in solving the murder of her 18-year-old boy, a devoted gamer whose nickname was “Sega.”

“I absolutely want justice for my son, and it's not fair that it's taken that long.”

Wilson, an aspiring veterinarian who just received his driver's permit, was shot to death while lying on a friend's bed and looking at his phone after playing video games in Canarsie on May 25. Cops said three masked men crept up to the house shot the unsuspecting youth through the window. He died a day later.

According to Aumack, the deadly beef involved a girl and a friend of her son — with the young woman allegedly ordering up the hit.

“I'm gonna send people over to your house right now,” the girl reportedly threatened her target during a phone call.

No arrests were yet made in the brutal killing, and the mom said the intended victim wasn't even in the house.

“My heart is already broken,” said the mom. “This broke me in the worst way, because it had nothing to do with him and they know it had nothing to do with him … Genesis doesn't get involved with stuff like that.”

The slain youth loved sports, playing basketball, soccer and football. Genesis was popular and had been going out with his girlfriend for two years, according to his mom.

After the June 9 funeral for Genesis, his girlfriend Malezia Davis saw taunting Facebook messages forwarded by a friend about the killing. “Glad that he dead,” read one of the comments.

Aumack, 42, said she was initially angry with her son as she drove to Brookdale Hospital to see the wounded teen, thinking he had somehow put himself in danger. But her feelings changed once she learned the details of the plot against Genesis' friend.

“He was my everything. We were very close,” said Aumack, the mother of two other sons and a daughter. "I would never, ever wish this pain on anyone. It's heart-wrenching. Every time I think I'm not going to cry today, I get another revelation.”

Detectives concluded that Wilson was not the intended target, a police source said. Anyone with information can call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.

Aumack said her son was in the house to play video games with a friend, but that friend had a running dispute with the alleged shooters.

She told the Daily News that security video shows the suspects trying the front door and then going around to the back. Cops released video Tuesday which shows the three suspects in dark, hooded sweatshirts and masks entering the home.

Aumack said she was posting flyers around her neighborhood and going on Facebook to urge anyone with information about the killing to come forward.

“No one should feel this pain," she said. “This is not the way life is supposed to be.”

On the day her son left home for the last time, Aumack recalled telling him, “I love you.”
