Teen shot dead at Long Island home

A Long Island man found his 17-year-old son dead from gunshot wounds early Tuesday, officials said.

Jose Sanchez told Suffolk County cops he found Emilio Sanchez Maldonado mortally wounded outside his East Patchogue home on Hampton Ave. about 3:30 a.m.

Medics said the teen was dead at the scene.

Sanchez told police he had been calling his son for hours with no response, so he left work to find him, according to the Associated Press.

When he stepped outside, Sanchez discovered his teenage son dead next to his bicycle in front of the home.
