Bike-riding punk shoots Bed-Stuy girl

- BY TREVOR BOYER AND GRAHAM RAYMAN

A 16-year-old girl standing with a group of friends was shot and wounded on a Brooklyn street early Thursday when a gunman and two other men rolled up on bicycles and opened fire, police said.

The victim was struck in the right foot and right calf near Marcus Garvey Blvd. and Gates Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant about 1:45 a.m.

Medics took her to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition. It was not immediately clear if she was the gunman’s immediate target.

The victim’s name was not released.

Neighbor Stuart Anderson, 44, said he was on his thirdfloor balcony early Thursday when he heard gunfire and saw at least two men in black hoodies on bikes.

“I see guys in black hoodies in the summertime, I’m like, what is that?” he said. “I seen people running and I saw a girl fall on the floor.”

Anderson looked on as the men on bikes took off the wrong way on Marcus Garvey Blvd. heading north.

He said there was a fight at the same spot involving about 30 people Tuesday night.

“That shooting yesterday could actually be in retaliation for that fight,” he speculated.

A 50-yard trail of blood stretched along the east side of Marcus Garvey Blvd. as cops investigated.
