The teams entered the fifth inning in a scoreless tie when Matt Duffy led off with a double into the rightcenter-field gap. He advanced to third on a Daniel Robertson groundout. Wilson Ramos then chopped a grounder to shortstop. The Mets were playing in to prevent the run, but Rosario was unable to corral the bouncing ball. He was forced to throw to first after recollecting, and the Mets trailed.
