Pop star said to be engaged to model gal pal
Justin Bieber has gone from “Boyfriend” to fiancé.
The pop star got engaged to model Hailey Baldwin on Saturday night, TMZ reports.
Bieber, 24, popped the question to Baldwin, 21, at a Bahamas resort, two people who were there told the gossip site.
The eyewitnesses revealed that the Biebs’ security team told everyone at a restaurant to put their phones away because something was about to go down. That’s when the singer proposed in front of everyone at the eatery where salsa dancing had been going on moments before.
Bieber’s father, Jeremy Bieber, seemed to confirm the news Sunday by posting a photo of his son to Instragram with the words, “@justinbieber proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!”
And on Saturday, the singer’s mom, Pattie Mallette, simply tweeted the word “Love” seven times in a row.
The singer’s parents aren’t the only ones who are thrilled. “It’s kind of a surprise, but kind of not. Justin has been extremely happy these past few weeks,” a source told People of the reported engagement. “He has known Hailey for a long time. This might seem sudden, but they know each other very well.”
Baldwin is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and Kennya Deodato Baldwin.
Bieber and Baldwin have been spotted out together in recent weeks after dating on and off in the past. The pair were seen in the Hamptons last Monday, when their car reportedly stalled on a road there. They were also seen making out in Sag Harbor the same day, Vanity Fair reported.
