Brad call! Hey, I gave Angie $9M for our kids

- BY BRIAN NIEMIETZ

Apparently $9 million isn't “meaningful.” A day after Angelina Jolie's lawyer filed court papers claiming Brad Pitt has not paid “meaningful child support” for their six children, Pitt's team filed a response arguing he's handed over more than $9 million to Jolie, who filed for divorce in 2016 after two years of marriage. Pitt's Wednesday filing to the California State Superior Court claims Jolie's filing “omits material information and is a thinly-veiled effort to manipulate media coverage.” The documents, filed by the law firm of Young, Spiegel & Lee LLP, claim that Pitt has so far paid Jolie $1.3 million in child support and fronted her $8 million for the home where they reside.

Jolie's complaint reportedly states that she has not received “meaningful” support in a year-and-a-half.

Pitt's team also claims that last week his lawyers and Jolie's participated in a conference call with the judge involved in their custody case and no mention was made of delinquent child support payments. During that exchange, both parties agreed to speak again on Aug. 21.

“As of present, (Pitt) has paid no meaningful child support since separation,” Jolie's attorney Samantha Bley DeJean wrote in a two-page brief obtained by NBC News on Tuesday.

Pitt and Jolie are in the throes of a contentious divorce in which “there will be no settlement or resolution anytime soon,” according to a Tuesday report on E!
