Shot dead outside a theater in Queens
A 25-year-old man was shot dead outside a Queens movie theater early Monday after being chased by masked gunmen from a nearby strip club where Cardi B recently got into trouble with the law, police said.
The victim, Jaquan Campbell, was at Angels strip club on College Point Blvd. in Flushing with more than a dozen people early Monday, cops said.
Cardi B was at the same hotspot Aug. 29 and allegedly ordered her entourage to attack two bartenders. She turned herself in to face charges Monday morning.
Police said there is no connection between the Cardi B confrontation and the shooting death.
About 3 a.m. Monday an argument erupted involving Campbell and other patrons. He drove off minutes later with several passengers in his car (below). Another vehicle gave chase for more than half a mile, ramming the rear of the victim’s car several times, cops said.
Campbell pulled over in the parking lot of College Point Cinemas on Ulmer St., where four men wearing masks approached and opened fire.
The victim died at the scene. His name was not immediately released. His assailants took off and have not been located.
What appears to be a machine gun (above) was recovered, but it wasn’t clear if it was a weapon used by the suspects.
The victim, who lived in Brooklyn, had served two years in state prison.
