Reyes may not be done

There might be another year of Jose, Jose, Jose.

Jose Reyes plans to return to the majors next season, Fancred Sports’ Jon Heyman reports, though it’s unlikely he’ll end up back in Flushing.

Reyes, who is up for MLB’s Man of the Year award as voted on by his peers despite a 2016 ban due to domestic abuse, struggled this past season as many fans on social media called for the team to move on from the former superstar.

The 35-year-old shortstop hit .189 in 110 games with the Mets last season, including a meager four home runs and 16 RBI.

“I know today’s going to be my last day with this team so, I have to be honest,” Reyes said before being sent off by Mets fans during the regular-season finale. “Right now, I don’t know how it’s going to be out there, but I’m going to enjoy it and play.

“In the ups and downs, they had my back. I know this season was the worst season in my career and they support me a lot and I appreciate that from the fans and for all of the love that they show me.”

Reyes signed a one-year deal worth $2 million with the Mets last January, as he may need to wait out another winter before finding a new team.

Aside from the Mets, Reyes has suited up for the Marlins, Blue Jays and Rockies.

He was released by Colorado after he was handed a 52-game ban by MLB, stemming from an arrest on domestic violence charges in 2015, in which he allegedly shoved his wife through a sliding glass door at a hotel in Maui.

Katherine Ramirez, Reyes’ wife, was taken to a hospital with injuries to her thigh, neck and wrist, though the case was eventually dropped after a lack of cooperation from Ramirez.
