Aerosmith’s Perry in hosp

- Rachel DeSantis

Aerosmith rocker Joe Perry was reportedly rushed to the hospital Saturday night after jamming with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden.

Perry, 68, had just wrapped a performance of “Walk This Way” with the Piano Man and returned to his dressing room when he collapsed, TMZ reports.

“Joe did not look good,” a source told the site.

He was reportedly wheeled out of the venue on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital after having a tracheal tube inserted into his throat by paramedics to clear his airways.

A rep for Perry told Rolling Stone that the guitarist was suffering shortness of breath after the performance, and was treated backstage by paramedics, who gave him oxygen and a tracheal tube before taking him to the hospital.

“This morning Perry remains in the hospital, where he is alert and responsive,” the statement read. “The Aerosmith guitarist will be unable to appear today at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in Florida and apologizes to those attending. Perry is expected to return to the road later this month.”

The musician is set to kick off a solo tour Nov. 30 in support of his most recent album, “Sweetzerland Manifesto.”
