Actor irked by ‘tributes’ to Stan Lee

- Gina Salamone

Some celebrity tributes to Marvel Comics mastermind Stan Lee were less than superheroic.

At least that’s how actor Armie Hammer views photos posted by several A-listers who starred as characters created by the iconic comic book writer who died Monday at age 95. Hammer took particular offense to shots celebs put up of themselves with Lee.

“So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee... no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself,” Hammer sarcastically tweeted Monday.

Hammer — who’s best known for films like “Call Me by Your Name” and “The Social Network” — provided the voice of Strong Arm in the 2014 TV movie “Stan Lee’s Mighty 7.”

The actor didn’t let up on Twitter when challenged on his post in the comments section.
