Trump raps Dem as a ‘little Schitt’

- BY KATE FELDMAN

It’s worse than covfefe — and this time President Trump’s Twitter typo seems to be on purpose.

Trump, commenting on a TV appearance Sunday by frequent antagonist Rep. Adam Schiff, misspelled the California Democrat’s name in a tweet that came off like a childish schoolyard taunt.

“So funny to see little Adam Schitt (D-CA) talking about the fact that Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker was not approved by the Senate, but not mentioning the fact that Bob Mueller (who is highly conflicted) was not approved by the Senate!” Trump tweeted early Sunday afternoon.

Unlike most of his typos, the mangling of Schiff ’s name stayed online, implying that it was intentional.

“Wow, Mr. President, that’s a good one,” Schiff (inset) responded on Twitter. “Was that like your answers to Mr. Mueller’s questions, or did you write this one yourself?”

Trump has said he’s preparing written answers to a series of questions submitted by Mueller.

Schiff, expected to be the new House Intelligence Committee chairman, said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that the upcoming Democratic majority House will challenge Trump on Whitaker’s appointment, which he said is “unconstitutional.”

“But it’s also in conflict with a more specific statute. There’s a succession statute for the Justice Department, which makes it different from other departments,” he said.

“So it’s a flawed appointment, but the biggest flaw from my point of view is that he was chosen for the purpose of interfering with the Mueller investigation.”

Schiff joins a lengthy who’s who of Trump foes on the wrong end of one of his nasty nicknames, along with “Lyin’ Ted,” “Crooked Hillary” and “Li’l Marco.”

Elizabeth Warren’s Native American background led Trump to pick up the “Pocahontas” nickname long used by her other political enemies. That nickname got a new life after Warren took a DNA test to prove her ancestry. “Schitt,” however, is the first Trump moniker to earn a PG-13 rating.
