Pols offer reward for info on rape

- Thomas Tracy

Two Brooklyn elected officials are offering an additional $1,000 reward for information about the sicko who raped a 59-year-old woman outside of Prospect Park.

Borough President Eric Adams and Councilman Mathieu Eugene (D-Brooklyn) offered the reward on Wednesday as they demanded the city improve the lighting in the area by the Parade Grounds, where the woman was attacked.

“We are truly horrified about this rape which happened here in a relatively safe part of Brooklyn,” Adams said standing at the corner of Parade Place and Parkside Ave. “We are asking the parks and the Department of Transportation and anyone who works in this area to do a complete analysis with the Police Department to look at the lighting scheme.”

The victim had just parked her car at about 4 a.m. Sunday when the man grabbed her from behind and put her in a chokehold. He then dragged her behind a bench and raped her, cops say.
