Web titan’s user breach

The names and emails of some Amazon customers have been exposed due to a technical error.

Affected users shared screenshots of Amazon’s email informing them of the slip-up on social media Wednesday morning.

“We’re contacting you to let you know that our website inadvertently disclosed your email address due to a technical error,” the message reads. “The issue has been fixed. This is not a result of anything you have done, and there is no need to change your password or take any other action.”

An Amazon spokesman told The News all affected customers have been notified.

It is unclear how many users’ data was exposed and who got access to it. The error was not a breach of the website, the company said.
