B-b-black F-f-friday hit record low temps

- BY LEONARD GREENE

Bargain hunters spent Black Friday in the bitter cold, braving record-low temperatures and whistling winds all in the name of consumerism.

The Christmas season kicked off with with Old Man Winter raring to go, punishing New Yorkers and tourists with temperatures that plummeted into the teens.

Holiday songs were on the lips of many who were out and about, none more popular than, “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Friday was the coldest November day ever recorded in Kennedy Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Bridgeport, Conn. Bridgeport dipped to 13 degrees.

Bryant Park was a winter wonderland, where a once-flowing fountain was in a deep freeze.

After the record cold morning, temperatures warmed in the afternoon — but only to the freezing mark.

The relative warmth will set the stage for a Saturday storm, which will arrive late in the afternoon and continue through early Sunday morning, according to forecasts. There could be more than an inch of rain in some places, and some minor flooding is possible.

High temperatures will reach the 50s, so there won’t be any snow.
