No Dem born to run in ’20

- Rachel DeSantis

Bruce Springsteen has made it clear he’s no fan of Donald Trump – but that doesn’t mean The Boss has a ton of faith that he won’t still be sitting pretty in the Oval Office come 2020.

The rocker explained in a new interview that he doesn’t feel the potential Democratic candidates would give Trump a run for his money in the next presidential election.

“I don’t see anyone out there at the moment … the man who can beat Trump, or the woman who can beat Trump,” Springsteen told London’s Sunday Times. “You need someone who can speak some of the same language [as Trump] … and the Democrats don’t have an obvious, effective presidential candidate.”

The midterm elections fell short of the “blue wave” Democrats had been hoping for, but the party did win a majority in the House of Representatives for the first time since 2010.

“Yeah, it was nice to get the House back, but I’d like to have seen a much more full-throated [rejection] of the past two years,” Springsteen said. “The country is very divided right now — there are a lot of people drinking the snake oil. So it’s a very difficult time here in the States.”
