WALKWAY HATE

Anti-Muslim scrawl on Randalls span

- BY REUVEN BLAU

The base of the walkway bridge to Randalls Island was vandalized with an anti-Muslim hate message.

An East Harlem man walking his dog with his husband noticed the graffiti, which says “Kill Muslim” in black paint.

“We were surprised,” recalled Kody Kirk, who posted a picture of the graffiti on Twitter.

“I’ve never seen anything like that since I’ve lived here,” he said, noting he moved to the area a year ago.

The location by E. 103rd St. is heavily trafficked, he added.

“There’s people out there fishing, running and playing soccer,” he said.

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating. A representative from the NYPD’s 25th Precinct also reached out via Twitter.

A representative for the Randall’s Island Park Alliance told him the scrawl would be removed soon.
