Goon shoves woman to subway tracks at Union Square
A woman was intentionally bumped onto the tracks by a stranger in an unprovoked attack at the Union Square subway station Thursday.
The 29-year-old woman was standing near the edge of the uptown No. 4 and 5 train platform when a man standing next to her bumped her onto the tracks about 10:30 a.m. and ran off.
Shocked straphangers reached down and pulled the woman back onto the platform, officials said.
There were no trains coming into the station when she landed, according to authorities.
“Amazing to see men/ women help to get her off track, get a transit worker to call for ems help & try to describe fast man who pushed her so nypd can find,” witness Teri Buhl tweeted.
Medics took the woman to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries.
The stranger ran out of the station, cops said. No arrests have been made.
Police described the suspect as black and heavyset. He was wearing a black hat, gray hoodie and dark-colored sneakers.
