2nd arrest in killing of Queens man

- Thomas Tracy

Police have arrested a second man in the January murder of a 19-year-old Queens resident, officials said Friday.

Richard Davenport, 42, of Brooklyn, is facing murder and gun possession charges for his role in the death of Omaree Morrison on Jan. 16, police said.

Morrison's bullet-riddled body was found on 135th St. near 105th Ave. in South Ozone Park about 9:30 p.m., officials said. Medics rushed him to Jamaica Hospital, but he could not be saved.

Morrison was shot in the neck, right shoulder and right side. He had been shot during a dispute over a marijuana deal, sources with knowledge of the case said.

Four .380-caliber shell casings were found at the scene.

A second suspect in the shooting — 37-year-old Neville Brown — was arrested in Dutchess County shortly after the killing.
