East Meadow, L.I.: To Voicer John Amato: You criticize Rep. Alexandria OcasioCortez and other Democrats for not standing up and applauding Donald Trump during the State of the Union, claiming that they are disrespectful. But you didn’t say a word about John Boehner and Paul Ryan’s scowling and refusing to stand and applaud during President Obama’s State of the Union addresses, or Republicans never applauding his addresses. You were silent about Republican Rep. Joe Wilson screaming “You lie!” at Obama while addressing Congress. Maybe if Trump didn’t stand up there and turn the State of the Union into a rambling speech full of lies and distortions and actually worked for the betterment of our nation, there would have been applause.
