Hussle kin: Donate to nabe, not us

- BY NANCY DILLON

Nipsey Hussle’s loved ones want people to steer clear of any crowdfunding efforts for his children because the kids don’t need any handouts.

A family source said Tuesday that the Grammy-nominated rapper made sure his daughter Emani and son Kross would be financially secure — so the late “Victory Lap” rapper would instead want any money donated in his honor to flow back into the Crenshaw community he loved.

To that end, the family asked retired NFL star Reggie Bush to remove the GoFundMe page he set up for Hussle’s kids and promoted on social media with a goal of reaching $100,000, the source said.

“The family did not ask anybody to create anything. Things were created as we were burying him. No one asked his partner for permission,” the source said Tuesday, referring to Hussle’s fiancée, Lauren London.

“I understand when people pass, other people want to be a part of something, but the execution was poorly done, and it wasn’t necessary,” the source said.

“Nip had a trust for his family, and there’s a foundation being created to continue his work in the Crenshaw District,” the source said. “No one asked that a crowdfunding page be set up.”

Bush’s GoFundMe is no longer active online.

Hussle, 33, was fatally shot in the head and torso March 31 outside his apparel store, The Marathon Clothing, in south Los Angeles.

Thousands of mourners packed the Staples Center on Thursday for a public memorial, where Snoop Dogg and Stevie Wonder took the stage to pay tribute.
