Elder abuse raps vs. Stan Lee aide

- BY NANCY DILLON

Stan Lee’s former business manager Keya Morgan has been slapped with five counts of elder abuse involving the late Marvel mogul dating to June.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles charged Morgan, 43, with one count of false imprisonment, three counts of theft, forgery or fraud and one count of physical or mental abuse, online court records confirmed.

A warrant has been issued for Morgan’s arrest.

“My client stands firmly on his presumption of innocence. I expect him to be completely exonerated of all charges. He has never abused Mr Stan Lee in any way. Please note our unequivocal position,” defense lawyer Alex Kessel said in an email to the Daily News.

Prosecutors previously charged Morgan with making bogus 911 calls last year amid an investigation into alleged abuse of the comic book legend who died at age 95 in November.

In one of the calls, Morgan allegedly claimed intruders had invaded Lee’s house in the Hollywood Hills and possibly were “harming” the publishing icon who co-created Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Hulk and many other characters, according to paperwork previously obtained by The News.

The unidentified people turned out to be two Los Angeles police officers and a social worker from Los Angeles County Adult Protective Services performing a welfare check, authorities said.

Morgan was intentionally excluded from the interview and allegedly made the false call to disrupt the meeting, according to court filings and a source who previously spoke to The News.

Morgan allegedly made a second 911 call in late May 2018 after a security guard refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement he prepared, a police report contained in court files said.

According to police, Morgan told the dispatcher the security guard had a gun and was “being very threatening.” The call went out as “urgent” and involving a “deadly weapon,” cops said. A helicopter and five patrol cars descended on Lee’s property with officers drawing their weapons, the paperwork said. Police later reported the security guard was not armed.

“[The calls] were false calls for service that potentially placed the responding officers, parties involved and neighboring citizens in possible danger due to the nature of the calls that required an armed response,” a police report said.

Morgan denied any misconduct in a string of comments to The News after his arrest in the prior misdemeanor case last year. He said he had a “fantastic relationship” with Lee and “literally saved his life once.”

Morgan also was the subject of a restraining order battle that included allegations he mishandled Lee’s millions and isolated the famed creator from family and friends.
