Drake is Rapt up in Green

- BY SARAH VALENZUELA

Drake showed up to Game 1 of the NBA Finals in a throwback Raptors jersey. And not just any throwback jersey. He was sporting an old Dell Curry jersey — yes, Steph Curry’s dad.

He was also his same old self in his courtside seat — when he chose to actually sit in it.

Of course the Toronto rapper would go zero to 100 real quick with his attire for Game 1 in his hometown of Toronto.

Dell and Sonya Curry — obviously in attendance to support Steph as they have in all his Finals appearances the last five seasons — liked the look and let Drake know it as they passed him on the way to their seats.

Along with his jersey, Drake also covered up his Steph and Kevin Durant tattoos with a sweat band, showing just how faithful he is to the Raptors.

Prior to Game 1, the NBA had reached out and asked Drake to tone down his court-side antics, especially given his relationship with Steph Curry (among other Warriors). But it didn’t appear to sway him from being on his worst behavior.

After the game ended, Drake exchanged some words with Draymond Green as the Warriors exited the court after getting beat. Curry noticed the exchange and appeared to say “let’s go” as he nudged Green away. Drake then said something to Green that many internet observers interpreted as “trash.”

Later, Drake posted a photo to his Instagram account of some lint he picked out of Steph’s hair during the game, along with the caption: “Steph Curry hair lint for sale on my eBay right now!!! username: DraymondShouldntWear23.”

This could be just the start of many Drake moments to come through the rest of this series.
