What was Huckabee Sanders’ job?

-

Woodland Park, N.J.: Sarah Huckabee Sanders is leaving her position as White House press secretary. So what? There has not been a press briefing for almost 100 days. Trump and his tweets have made the position as obsolete as the CD, yellow pages, VCRs, Polaroid instant pictures, landlines and maps.

Hallandale, Fla.: I want to thank White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for her service to the Trump administration and our nation. She’s a patriot who worked tirelessly every day to deliver on President Trump’s America First agenda. I wish Sarah, Bryan and her children all the best in their future endeavors.

Brooklyn: Sarah, you will not be missed! Saying what tiny hands told you to say, and leaving. I hope you don’t have to talk with a twisted and forked tongue any more. I hear Walgreens is looking for someone who can talk people into buying a jock strap for eye wash.

Floral Park, L.I.: It is really sad, the departure of President Trump’s No. 1 fierce defender (in other words, No. 1 liar) Sarah Huckabee Sanders. That means, journalists and press reporters are going to hear the truth! I doubt it. If the tree is good, the fruits are good too. Trump is corrupt and of course his staff is too.

Do better

Rockaway Park: It is outrageous and such a disgrace that funds have not been available for our first responders who are sick or getting sick from day one. How and why our so-called Congress has not agreed with that is beyond my comprehension and understanding as well as, I am sure, the comprehension of millions of other people. How could they not care about these people and their health crises ? Clearly, no relatives of members of Congress were first responders on that sad day or we would have seen this bill pass immediately. This is a horrible situation. Congress has left our homeless and sick devoted veterans in the street with nothing. Wake up. Take care of our people.

In your face

Southington, Conn.: Pathetic! Yes, that’s what the match between the USA and Thailand was. What a great example of poor sportsmanship we presented. What? 7-0 wasn’t good enough? We had to keep pouring it on? And we wonder why people from the U.S. are referred to as “ugly Americans” so often. I don’t wish for us to lose, but I certainly hope

the next opponent makes us work our butts off for a win. Kudos to the Thai team for staying on the field after such an uncalled-for onslaught.

Crocodile tears

Carmel, N.Y.: Notwithstanding all your self-congratulatory back patting, I am not exactly sure how courageous it was for the Daily News to publicly apologize for some homophobic headlines from 50 years ago. For quite some time now, the paper has pandered to the far left and catered to the victimization crowd. For you to decide to come out with an apology directed towards your core audience is hardly heroic. Now, if you decide at some point to apologize for your vile and irresponsible reporting of Republicans in general (and President Trump in particular), that would actually be noteworthy.

Help Sudan

Brooklyn: The Sudan massacre is current and rapid. Hundreds are being killed, arrested, injured and raped. All social media coverage is banned and the world remains silent. Friends and families are getting their lives brutally taken for protesting a military-strong regime of oppression. A peaceful protest has now resulted in an outlash of violence and torture. Many people post this issue to get awareness, but we can all actually help assuage this crisis. Calling a member of Congress, signing petitions, and donating to organizations can contribute to helping the Sundanese people. Let’s band together and alleviate the pain of the people in Sudan.

Final say

Glen Head, L.I.: Voicer Judith Levine gave us a truly interesting (!) review of the entire Trump family military history. Levine went all the way back to rip his great-grandfather. Truly fascinating. The problem is that nobody (except never-Trumpers and frustrated Hillary supporters) cares! Levine and other neverTrumpers cannot say anything negative about Trump’s achievements, so they bring up his lack of military service to criticize over and over. That’s all they have! In light of the successes of his policies, why is Donald Trump never given any credit by the media, Democrats or neverTrumpers? Simple! They cannot accept his success because they suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, which is an incurable mental sickness characterized by a psychotic hatred of this president and anything he does. People suffering from TDS would rather see America fail than see Trump succeed! As a result, neverTrumpers will scream and moan about President Trump’s “tone,” his “abrasive comments,” his “unpresidential behavior” and “his rudeness” ad nauseam. And of course, there is always the Russian collusion delusion. The never-Trumpers were hoping and praying that Robert Mueller would deliver “collusion” on a silver platter. He delivered bupkis!

All hands on deck

Brooklyn: Thank you to the rank-and-file members of the NYPD and FDNY who are out in the streets helping us every day. I just want to know why all of the top staff from both agencies need to respond to the same incident. They were all at the helicopter crash. Shouldn’t some of them continue working and helping with other emergencies? They remind me of Little Leaguers who all run after the same ball.

Grocery list

Brooklyn: I recommend to your readers to try Mestemacher bread. It is the

AP only bread that is shelf-stable and that can last a year outside due to it being pasteurized. It can be bought on Amazon for about $4 a loaf. Each loaf is a pound. It is made by a bakery that has been around for over 150 years. It is a healthy bread with a few ingredients, and is available in an organic variety. I also recommend that you try Nutella, which can make your mornings sweeter and encourage your children to eat more bread. Thank you for printing this letter and thus improving your readers’ lives.

Out of control

Manhattan: Re the new regulations for Uber, Lyft and other app rides: They should have never been allowed to operate in the first place. Totally unnecessary. We now have a situation where the value of yellow cab medallions has plummeted. Too many yellow cabs are driving around empty. What about all of the yellow cabbies who have committed suicide due to lack of money? Too many cars in street, plus stupid Citi Bikes. Now congestion pricing? Vision Zero? That’s a joke. Whoever the idiots were that allowed all of these new apps and Citi Bike to operate, shame on them
