Manhattan: If I, at 62, were running for POTUS as a Democrat this primary season, I’d have to deal with other candidates raising issues like how, in my younger days, I may have occasionally used the word “Negro” or maybe even “retarded” or how I’ve been seen extending hugs to women who are not my wife — without even asking for their permission first!

Yeah, I guess I really do feel for Joe Biden. It’s tough to have lived that long a life and be running against these annoyingly desperate and attention-starved younger candidates in today’s uber-PC climate. Biden has been a true American patriot and a fine human being in his life. He doesn’t deserve to deal with the ridiculous crap being thrown his way by his fellow Dems. But hey, he did choose to run, and if I saw this “cage match” of a primary season coming, I assume he did too.

I guess it would probably not be a wise move for me to run for POTUS in 2024, huh? It’s near impossible to have lived through this many decades and still emerge from the inevitable political mud-wrestling ahead unscathed and saintly in the eyes of a younger generation — one which seems content to absorb its awareness and ‘religion’ from the bible of currentday political correctness.

Good luck in 2020, Joe. As for me and 2024? I’m officially out! Gary Stein

Hypocrites

Flushing: The Daily News proclaims, “Since 1919 we’ve shared the triumphs, the tragedies, the truths. Questioning everything and stopping at nothing to deliver the stories that matter to you.” Except when it comes to indicting Hillary and the Dems for their Russian dossier collusion and illegal surveillance of Trump as a candidate and elected president. No border crisis for you dolts at The News either. Your loyalty to journalism is long dead! Fred Levine

About time

Brooklyn: I am glad the FDNY is finally changing its head of their press office. For years they avoided answering questions the public has the right to know. They even show bias towards the teams they like. Why was there no story about Commissioner Nigro helping to unveil a Pride plaque in Monument Park at Yankee Stadium? Speaker Corey Johnson’s office did a great job in getting the word out about such an important event.

I concede

Wantage, N.J.: To Voicers Jim Heimbuch and Lori Thompson: You both win. Our flag will go up in the near future

and Jim said it will be hung upside down. My father, uncles and husband were all veterans (no bone spurs in our family!). My father would have hated the orangeheaded monster who mocked our war hero, John McCain. We can never show the disrespect that orange-head does, however we hang our flag.

Pride month

Bronx: To all the homophobes out there who hate Gay Pride Celebrations and gay people: blame the straight people; they’re the ones making gay babies. Chris Bilcik

Pyongyang Pride

Ozone Park: If any preceding president had cozied up to leaders of North Korea and Russia etc., Trump would have had them roasted. When the Gay Pride parade is hosted by Pyongyang, the world will know they are a free and democratic nation. Does Trump care about that or just the economic benefits he would get? Ray Hackinson

Place of dishonor

Elizabeth, N.J.: Re “Not all joy with Pride” (June 29): Your article about the divisions in the gay rights movement and how they were reflected in the participants in the Pride parade reminded me of marches in the 1980s when NAMBLA was still allowed to participate. Back then, you could always tell which movement and politicians were the ones that the march organizers weren’t happy about having to include, because they were usually right after the NAMBLA group.

Audiophile

Bronx: I watched the Pride parade. The numbers were impressive and some of the costumes were really witty. The floats were good and plenty, but, what’s a parade without music? They need a few bands, trios, and musicians — like the Puerto Rican Day Parade— to make it a really New York event. Rose

Same ole spiel

Brookfield, Conn.: To Voicer Paul Feiner, who wants to give each candidate equal space and air time so that voters can hear the candidates’ views of the issues: At any other time, that would be a really good idea. Unfortunately, these days the views of all the Democratic candidates are the same: Give everybody everything for free, and impeach Trump. One statement would cover every candidate.

Not a safe space

Brooklyn: The NYPD’s suicide prevention outreach in precincts is as insincere and ineffective as the posters instructing police officers to report wrongdoing! I’m confident that most cops believe if they come forward and ask for help, they know they will suffer the consequences, so they won’t!

For the people

Brooklyn: It’s a shame that most of the Democrats are running on items that will cost the taxpayers of this country both in cash, loss of benefits etc. Why didn’t anyone think of the working class poor who they want to fund all of these programs and ideas? Note: They are not putting their money where their mouths are! Someone better think again about what they are running on because the real “tired and poor huddled masses” are the ones voting in these elections. We don’t need to change our constitution, just remember what it stands for.

Suzannah Troy Dorothy Collins

Brooklyn: The liberals who encourage immigrants to come here illegally and undertake the dangerous journey to do so should shoulder a lot of the blame for the tragic consequences. They are so intent on pandering for future votes that they

GETTY IMAGES absolve themselves with phony concern and phrases like “it’s the humane thing to do.” The immigrants are no better than pawns in their plans and they should spend some time coming up with legal solutions to the problem even if it costs them those mouth-watering future votes. That is the humane thing to do. Michael Massa

Put your foot in your mouth

South Hempstead, L.I.: A British professor wants to shame U.S. border agents for alleged human rights abuses. I haven’t seen the British government apologize for what the likes of Cromwell, Queen Elizabeth I and Churchill did to Ireland, and numerous other countries. Just shut up. Michael Quane

Head in the clouds

Congers, N.Y.: To Voicer Thomas King: What color is the sky in your world? It should be apparent to you that the Yankees are in first place, 11 games ahead of your Red Sox. I don’t see Aaron Boone panicking at all, even though, by rights, he could have when most of his starting lineup were on the disabled list. I know pot is legal in your state, but maybe you should cut back a little. Beth Friscino
