Ginsburg is out of hosp, back home

- BY DAVID BOROFF

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is out of the hospital after being treated for flulike symptoms, her spokeswoman said Sunday.

Ginsburg, 86 (inset), has returned to her Washington home after spending two nights at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She had complained of chills and had a fever.

She was evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington before being moved to Johns Hopkins. Ginsburg received intravenous antibiotics and fluids and is now “doing well,” according to Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg.

The Brooklyn native has battled a series of health obstacles in recent years, including four occurrences of cancer. She had lung cancer surgery last year and received radiation treatment for a tumor on her pancreas this summer.

Her hospitalization over the weekend came after the court met in private to discuss pending cases.

President Trump would likely appoint a sixth conservative judge if Ginsburg, part of the liberal bloc, were to leave the bench.

She has been on the court since 1993 after being appointed by President Bill Clinton.

Only Clarence Thomas has served longer than Ginsburg among the court’s current members.

Ginsburg has said she plans to stay on job as long as she can do it “full steam.” She is arguably the most high-profile justice, inspiring recent Hollywood movies, books and memes.

“Sometimes I get so absorbed in my work I just don’t want to let go,” Ginsburg told Bloomberg TV.

“But when it comes time to meet my trainer I drop everything.”
