‘SHORE’ I WANT A BABY

Situation: Trying again

- BY JAMI GANZ

The Situation has officially traded in fist-pumping for family life.

The “Jersey Shore” star — who will return to TV screens in 2020 — says that he and his wife Lauren (both below) have already started trying for a baby again after the traumatic miscarriage she suffered in October.

“Actually tonight we’re going to be trying,” the reality personality, whose real name is Michael Sorrentino, laughed while speaking with the Daily News last Monday at New York’s Friars Club, just over two months after his release from prison for tax evasion.

“And there’s nothing wrong with that,” the reality show star added. “We’re trying to get across … that you’re going to come across ups and downs in life, OK? And the most important thing is to, if you don’t succeed, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try, try again until you succeed.”

The couple — who celebrated their first wedding anniversary recently — also expressed their anguish at the loss of the pregnancy.

“The rug was pulled out from underneath us and I was struggling with it really hard,” Lauren, 34, told The News. “I decided I just wanted to [talk about it publicly] to heal myself, kind of put that negativity out there and release it, and also help any woman struggling and going through it.”

Once the pair do have a family, Sorrentino admits he’s not against having his future children on camera.

“But if they do want to get into entertainment when they get older, I will explain the pitfalls,” he told The News, because, “Daddy went to prison.”

Lauren agreed, adding, “They’ll have a good path of what not to do.”

It’s been a tough year for the couple, but Sorrentino appreciates every moment since his release from federal prison in Otisville, N.Y., in September.

“Once your freedom is taken away and you finally get it back, you sort of savor every single moment, every single meal, every single breath, every single conversation,” Sorrentino, 37, told The News. “And so I feel that I’m very grateful that I’m able to close a chapter in my life that was very trying and, you know, start anew with my beautiful wife and all these awesome new projects.”

In addition to the second part of Season 3 of MTV’s “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” premiering some time in 2020, Sorrentino is partnering with Banyan Treatment Center, which focuses on drug and alcohol treatment. He aims to “spread a positive message of my experience, strength, and hope” as he prepares to celebrate four years of sobriety.
