Don’t you fret, they are still extremely rich
The prince won’t become a pauper. The duchess will never be destitute.
Meghan Markle and hubby Harry should have no problem minding any gaps when it comes to the financial independence they seek, experts say.
They could earn princely sums endorsing just about anything. And besides, they’re already millionaires.
Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is reportedly worth more than $40 million thanks to income from his dad’s Duchy of Cornwall trust and sizable inheritances from his mother and great grandmother.
Duchess Meghan, meanwhile, was earning a reported $50,000 per episode working on the USA Network legal drama “Suits” before she ended her seven-season run with more than a hundred episodes.
Adding in her film work and endorsement deals, she was a selfmade millionaire when she first started dating Harry in 2016.
With their forces combined and an adorable baby to boot, their options are endless, one expert said.
“They could get seven-figure speaking engagements, probably eight-figure book deals, and any kind of luxury brand would love to be affiliated with them,” Ronn Torossian, founder of Manhattan public relations firm 5WPR, said.
“They are class, they are luxury, they’re international — and they represent love and acceptance,” he said. “They’re the gold standard.”
The couple applied for a trademark for “Sussex Royal” — which is also their Instagram handle — for everything from books, clothing and public awareness campaigns.
Some of their top money-making options include:
Books, books and more books: They could take a page from President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s playbook and earn multiple millions with high-brow memoirs that manage to stay eye-opening and insightful without burning any bridges.
Going on tour: They could line up speaking engagements or a book tour complete with tasteful merchandise like reusable tote bags and wastereducing water bottles. A portion of the proceeds could even go to charity.
Media projects: Speaking of the Obamas, the royals could follow in their footsteps with a studio deal focused on historical, environmental and social-justice programming. Or maybe an international music collaboration with the help of British buddy Elton John or just about anything with personal pal Oprah Winfrey.
