Gigi wants to be a model Weinstein juror
Add Victoria’s Secret model Gigi Hadid to the list of celebrities connected to the Harvey Weinstein trial.
Hadid made an appearance Monday at New York’s most-watched courthouse drama, but not as a witness or a sexual assault victim.
Hadid, 24, was in Manhattan Supreme Court as a potential juror in the rape and sexual assault trial of the disgraced movie mogul.
The IMG model, sitting alongside 116 other New Yorkers tapped for potential jury duty, was one of two people who raised a hand when Justice James Burke asked if anybody knew a member of the defense or the prosecution.
“I have met the defendant,” Hadid said, speaking into a microphone, before adding that she still felt she could judge the case impartially.
Hadid put her hand up again when Burke asked the jury pool whether anybody knew a person on the list of potential witnesses.
“I have met Salma Hayek and possibly Ryan Beatty,” she said. “I think I’m still able to keep an open mind on the facts.”
It was not immediately clear if Hadid made the cut.
As the second week of jury selection got underway, the two sides began to sift through 108 juror questionnaires that have already been filled out — a significant percentage of which Burke anticipates will be tossed.
