Drama, R. Sebastian Stan plays a government worker leading an effort to award the Medal of Homor to a Vietnam vet who died years ago. With Samuel L. Jackson, Ed Harris, William Hurt, Bradley Whitford, Diane Ladd and Christophe­r Plummer.

“Run”

Thriller, not yet rated. Sarah Paulson plays a mother who may be hiding important informatio­n from her increasing­ly suspicious daughter.

“The Turning” Horror/suspense, R. A governess (Mackenzie Davis) hired to take care of two children (Finn Wolfhard, Brooklynn Prince) finds increasing­ly bizarre happenings in the mansion where she cares for them.

“The Assistant”

Drama, R. The movie follows a powerful executive’s underling (Julia Garner of “Ozark” and “The Americans”) as she comes to realize the extent of abuse happening around her. Matthew Macfadyen also stars.

“Gretel & Hansel” Thriller/horror, PG-13. Sophia Lillis (“It,” “Sharp Objects”) and Samuel Leakey play the title characters trying to escape a witch in this adaptation of the classic fairy tale.
